Ingrina! This atmospheric post hardcore/post metal quintet will release their new album, Nåværende Lys, on February 13, 2026, via Medication Tome Records and À Tant Rêver Du Roi. And let it be known : it's a major exclusivity, as the existence of this third LP will be kept secret until the official announcement in mid-January. No singles, no music videos beforehand: everything will be revealed to the public all at once on the big day. So you're part of a select group who now have the chance to experience this pure masterpiece. Hailing from Corrèze (center of France), these guys push their boundaries once again, celebrating more than ever the DIY mentality that has always been a constant for them. Highly recommended to fans of Year Of No Light, Cult Of Luna, and Russian Circles.
Despite the release of the massive one-off single "Ice Flares" in 2023, it took over five long years for Ingrina to deliver the successor to Siste Lys. But every good saga is worth the wait, and for good reason: Nåværende Lys is none other than the third and final installment of the conceptual trilogy initiated with Etter Lys in 2018. Or what the band presents as a "metaphorical narrative, completing a geological cycle where life forms have survived drowning, petrification, and then uprooting". As the sublime artwork of this opus suggests, these six new tracks are akin to a flow of molten lava. Incandescent, destructive, hypnotic, spectacular. In a post-whatever scene that is all too easily homogenized, especially in France, Ingrina continues to shine with their singularity. Few bands can craft a sound that makes their music so immersive, and this is definitely one of them.
No one can resist the captivating power of the layers emanating from these three guitars. Those that, with their metamorphic capabilities, reach peaks of heaviness and power in riffs that are in no way diminished by the switch from two to one single drummer. Their resonance evokes such raw emotion, interwoven with the spectral, sometimes tortured, vocals of the five musicians. This formula is further enhanced by Ingrina's masterful use of contrasts. It's not uncommon to switch abruptly from soaring doom/post-rock passages to phases of absolute turmoil where the tempo accelerates, unleashing a near-hardcore rage. And I can't help but mention the spice that makes all the difference in this already delicious sauce: the introduction of a few electronic elements, which opens up some interesting possibilities… For what's next? Personally, I want more!
Enough talk, let's get down to business. Nåværende Lys is to be listened to, to be felt, and to be experienced right now, and only for your ears, in its entirety:
