Ron Trent will be celebrated with a special Grammy Celebration Party on Saturday, January 31, 2026, in Downtown Los Angeles, marking his nomination at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards for Best Remixed Recording for his remix of Soul II Soul’s “A Dream’s A Dream.” This release marks his first-ever remix nomination, building on a long history of celebrated reinterpretations and cross-genre collaborations with artists including Erykah Badu (“Honey”), Jill Scott (“Spring Summer Feeling”), and Khruangbin.

I’m deeply grateful to be nominated for a Grammy for Best Remixed Recording. ‘A Dream’s a Dream’ is a sacred piece of soul and dance music history, and my intention was to honor its spirit while allowing it to breathe in a new way. We’ll be coming together in Los Angeles on January 31st to celebrate the music, the people, and the energy that continues to guide this journey.” — Ron Trent

The event brings together artists, collaborators, and community to honor a career defined by innovation, spiritual depth, and an unwavering commitment to sound as culture. Beginning at 8:00 PM, the evening features Ron Trent alongside a live performance from Rochelle Jordan, with DJ sets from DāM-FunK, Juliet Mendoza, and Shaun Ross. Presented by In Between, KCRW, Infamous PR, and Music & Power, the celebration will unfold at a pop-up location near the 6th Street Bridge, with exact details shared directly with ticket holders on the day of the event.

Emerging from Chicago’s rich musical ecosystem, Ron Trent’s path has been shaped by deep listening, rhythm, and a global sensibility that resists categorization. From his early work as a teenage producer through the co-founding of Prescription Records, Trent developed a soulful, exploratory language that continues to evolve across DJ sets, studio recordings, and curatorial projects. His music draws from jazz, funk, ambient, Afro-diasporic traditions, and electronic experimentation.
