Atlanta based multi-instrumentalist and producer, Silent Child releases his new single, ‘Can’t Get Away’ via Kartel Music Group. The track acts as a cautionary tale around toxic relationships, and demonstrates how Silent Child effortlessly transcends between rock, alternative, and electronic genres

His latest offering, ‘Can’t Get Away’, follows previous single ‘Ready’ which has seen support from Kerrang! Radio, Forever Loud, Already Heard, DNU & more. Silent Child’s music serves as a bold statement, challenging listeners to break free from the constraints that hold them back. Speaking of the track, he says: “QUOTE".

Silent Child’s musical journey began in the early 2010s when he first explored electronic and dubstep music. Over time, his sound evolved as he discovered rock and alternative genres, drawing inspiration from a wide range of influences, including hip-hop, R&B, and country as well as alternative artists such as My Chemical Romance, Pierce the Veil and Sleeping with Sirens. This eclectic mix of genres is reflected in ‘Ready’ which blends gritty guitar riffs with a more melodic sound. The track, co-produced by Rodney and producer Kevin Hissink (Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Demi Lovato, Tom Morello), delves into the harsh realities of life post-school, emphasising the need for resilience and self-reliance. “The song is about adapting to the harsh realities of the world after leaving the idealised bubble of school, and the need to be prepared to fend for yourself” he continues.

As a multi-instrumentalist, Rodney is deeply involved in every aspect of his music, from writing and recording to producing. Despite the challenges of breaking into Atlanta's close-knit hip-hop scene, where connections are key, Rodney has carved out his niche with an alternative sound that stands apart from the city's dominant musical trends.

During the global challenges throughout the pandemic, Silent Child released some of his most popular tracks to date, including 'Super Villain' and 'Me & My Demons'. These songs, along with support from tastemakers and YouTube channels like Suicide Sheep, have significantly expanded his reach, introducing his music to millions. His releases through major labels such as Monstercat, Spinnin' Records, Columbia Records, and CloudKid have further solidified his presence in the music scene. He has become a must-watch artist, further propelled by sync placements in TV shows like ‘Riverdale’ and games like Rocket League. Most recently, he teamed up with Tiësto, Lucas & Steve for the lead song of the highly anticipated urban fantasy ARPG from Hoyoverse, 'Zenless Zone Zero'. Continuing to release with DREAMERS, Besamorph, AViVA, and Others, Rodney is maturing in his sound as an artist and preparing for some of his largest releases yet.

‘Can’t Get Away’ is more than just a song; it's a statement of intent from an artist who refuses to be confined by genre or expectations.
