London-based indie-rock quartet The Boxer Rebellion are pleased to announce that their song, 'Promises', taken from their latest studio album of the same name, is currently being featured in the new Google advertisement. Televised 2 nights ago during the American Idol Finale, the new 90-second commercial draws from user-generated videos centered around the special moments during adolescence where lifelong memories are created. With its lyrics rooted in the idea of moving on yet retaining the spirit of one’s youth, the uplifting and cinematic 'Promises' is thematic to the band’s trajectory – having significantly gone from strength to strength since parting ways with Universal Music almost ten years ago.
About the Promises LP
The Boxer Rebellion took to their London rehearsal space and transformed it into a recording studio where the songs for 'Promises' would eventually come together over the span of 18 months. Billboard Magazine deemed the album “sunnier, glossier and the most upbeat, accessible album of its career,” - a hi-fi, soaring body of work that truly delivers on the band's epic, signature sound. From the retro-glossiness of the album's opener, 'Diamonds' to the wall-of-sound that is 'Fragile' to the towering beauty of 'Low', 'New York' and 'Dream', 'Promises' presents itself as an evolution in aesthetic - diverse in soundscapes but singular in grand ambition - for a band that continues to push and explore its creative ability with each new release. 'Promises' was co-produced by Billy Bush and The Boxer Rebellion, and mixed by Billy Bush.
