The Twilight Sad announced the release of their sixth studio album, It’s The Long Goodbye, earlier this week. They previously shared the track WAITING FOR THE PHONECALL, featuring Robert Smith of The Cure, and now follow it up with the single DESIGNED TO LOSE. The album’s second track is a meditative yet powerful reflection on the human condition, dwelling on the feeling of being doomed to lose and the inability to come to terms with that loss.
The upcoming album is The Twilight Sad’s most personal and relatable record to date. It is deeply influenced by frontman James Graham’s mental health, experiences of grief and loss, and the necessity of finding strength in moments when you feel least capable of it.
