The audacious thrash metal outfit TURN COLD have unleashed a untameable offering in 2022 EP. Following the debut EP Break Your Faith released last year, the Atlanta based thrashers are demonstrating their impressive prowess through the evolution of their sound.
TURN COLD draw heavily on heavy metal pioneers like SLAYER, NUCLEAR ASSAULT, KREATOR and hardcore acts old and new such as CRO-MAGS, IRON AGE and POWER TRIP resulting in an epic crossover sound. Formed in Spring of 2020 as a means to stay sane amidst the pandemic, TURN COLD is growing into a force to be reckoned with. 2022 EP is an onslaught of harsh vocals evoking a mood of disturbing anguish, deliciously dark and distorted instrumentation, with thundering percussion enhancing the hard-hitting impact. Lured into the abyss with the dramatic anticipation of "The Leash", the track builds eagerly before releasing an assault on the senses. "An Open Eye" rumbles into life with an intriguing introduction before immersing into fast-rhythms and a driving beat. Spiralling out of the gloom, "Poltergeist" injects chaos into an intense atmosphere. The haunting sound manifests a thrilling apparition of driving rhythms, otherworldly power.
TURN COLD have created an exhilarating EP. It may be short with only three tracks, but the quintet have composed each song with such an intricate eye for detail. 2022 EP is an astonishing display of power and precision in a time of turmoil.
