The ethereal indie band VELVET MOON are gearing up to unleash their fifth studio album, Endless War In The Summer with a stirring focus track, ‘This Time (It’s Forever)’, on 23 May, 2025 via Argle Bargle Studios. Boasting 15 million streams across platforms, the group’s first three albums earned them global recognition, reaching the top of Spotify’s Viral list in Indonesia - a promising sign of what awaits listeners with their forthcoming LP. VELVET MOON have garnered support from tastemaker publications CLASH and METAL Magazine, and have graced the stages of The Great Escape and the Brinova Arena, where they recorded their most recent release, a live EP titled In The Moment With VELVET MOON, which received support from NPR Music. The band’s music has also become a favourite among vloggers and has been featured in TV commercials for brands like Kappahl and Bollinger in Sweden. Their timeless sound has attracted a fanbase that is both diverse and multi-generational.

The Stockholm band have built up a catalogue of deeply intimate and evocative songs. Sandra Bjurman, the band's lyricist and vocalist, draws directly from her everyday experiences while reflecting on broader societal and global issues. The musical landscapes crafted by producers Stefan Örn and Johan Glössner perfectly complement Sandra's storytelling, allowing listeners to journey through a spectrum of rich colours and powerful feelings. Influenced by War on Drugs, Joni Mitchell and Rycooder, the band’s current sound is reminiscent of the sultry Synth Pop of Fleetwood Mac (in the 80s), Chappell Roan, The Eurythmics, and Cannons.

Endless War In The Summer is a glorious feast of big emotions, glowing neon and lavishly wrapped in 80s dance nostalgia. The LP’s focus track, ‘This Time (It’s Forever)’, is a gorgeous heart-throb anthem resplendently twinkling with gated reverb, boxy drum machines, lush synths and Sandra’s richly gleaming vocals singing stirringly of a “cosmic connection caught between certainty and doubt” - think Chappel Roan meets Fleetwood Mac. The album is a sentimental dancer’s dream; enchantingly potent and effortlessly timeless.

The album was written by all three band members and produced by VELVET MOON. The mix engineer for the release was Johan Kronlund, known for his work with artists such as Allan Walker, Veronica Maggio and Hovet, while mastering was handled by Björn Engelmann (ABBA, Titiyo, Allan Walker).

The trio shared: “‘Endless War In The Summer’ reflects on the ever-present dualities of today’s society, where beauty and chaos, love and disillusionment, exist side by side. It channels the emotional unrest of a generation caught between frustration and fleeting moments of nirvana. At its core, the album embraces the idea of a universal, transformative love - one that’s said to conquer all - yet questions whether that belief is a sacred truth or a beautifully naive dream. In the heart of the turmoil, naivety becomes both a shield and a weapon, a state of grace in a world that constantly demands armour. This is a record for the dreamers at war - with the world, and within themselves. Know that it’s your garden.”
