Victoria Pax is the musical alter ego of the Ghent-born Ostend native Vito Dhaenens (28). Somewhere between America and Europe, between the dream of freedom and the yearning for the past, Victoria Pax drifts on a lonely boat in the middle of the ocean. He hears songs from a worn-out radio and translates them with his unique voice for the people left ashore.

In the past, he has supported acts such as dEUS and The Van Jets. In the near future, a first Victoria Pax album will be released by the legendary Amsterdam hippies of Excelsior Recordings/V2 Records.

Victoria Pax aims to sound like JJ Cale, John Talabot, Big Thief, George Harrison, Gregory Isaacs, Bob Dylan, Richie Hawtin, Bob Marley, Fontaines DC, Kurt Vile, Michael Jackson, Patti Smith, and Talking Heads. And Roy Orbison. And maybe also like Rihanna. Despite everything, he mostly sounds like himself.
