Rock Werchter is taking steps to ensure an even better festival experience. This year, the festival organisers will be running a campground in the A zone. It will offer more quality, more comfort and more experience. THE HIVE powered by Rock Werchter will be the largest festival campground. It also aims to be the best campground. Up to 30,000 festival attendees can stay there during Rock Werchter.

The hive campground: more quality, more comfort

In the festival park we spare no trouble or expense to offer festival attendees a great musical programme and the necessary facilities for an optimal festival experience. This will be extended to THE HIVE. We will focus on comfort, quality and safety. We will offer more showers, toilets and water taps. They will be put up in four comfort zones spread over the campground. That way there will always be facilities close by. In addition to sanitary facilities, each of the comfort zones will have free WiFi, a collection point for rubbish, and a cosy place to meet up. There will be a bar and a terrace. Hot and cold beverages, breakfast and delicious sandwiches will be served. Campground employees will also be present; ready to give attendees information and advice. THE HIVE will pay special attention to safety. The campground will be divided into compartments with fire exits. That system has already proven its value and it is applied to all campgrounds. THE HIVE will also have service roads. They are great for logistics and are also very important for possible interventions by the emergency services or in the event of an evacuation. A Red Cross first aid station will also be available for campers 24 hours a day.

The hive: more experience

THE HIVE is so much more than a campground. It is a fun and amusing place to hang out, a place where festival attendees can chill. Where people who happen to cycle by can stop and have a beer. THE HIVE is a large tent surrounded by food and beverage stands and a large terrace. Campers with a camping ticket XL will be able to enjoy the XL opening party on Wednesday evening. THE HIVE will open its doors to everyone on Thursday afternoon. The World Cup quarter finals will be projected on a large screen. Radio Modern will play some cool music in THE HIVE on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Opening hours and programme details will be listed on rockwerchter.be as soon as they are available.

Good to know

The beverage/food vouchers that are sold in the festival park are also valid in THE HIVE. // Free WiFi is available in THE HIVE and in the campground comfort zones. // All four World Cup quarter finals will be broadcast on a large screen in THE HIVE on July 4 and 5. If the Belgian Rode Duivels make it to the quarter finals then that match will also be broadcast in the festival park. Additional screens will be erected in locations that will not disturb the concerts. // THE HIVE is the only campground that is open on Wednesday for those with a camping ticket XL. // A large car park, accessible via Haacht, links up with THE HIVE. // Campers who travel to THE HIVE via public transportation should board a festival bus in Leuven heading towards Haacht.

Camping tickets still on sale

Camping tickets can still be purchased via www.proximusgoformusic.be . Two types of camping tickets are available: a camping ticket regular, valid for all campgrounds including THE HIVE from Thursday, July 3 to Monday, July 7 and a camping ticket XL, valid for THE HIVE from Wednesday, July 2 to Monday, July 7. Those with a camping ticket XL will be able to enjoy the XL opening party in THE HIVE on Wednesday. An additional advantage is that festival tickets can be exchanged for a festival wristband on Wednesday evening. As a result, the wait at the entrance of the festival park will be reduced to a minimum on Thursday. Those who already have a festival wristband can use the fast lane entrance.
