De New Yorkse band Been Stellar is bezig met een sterke opmars. Ze tourden als support van The 1975 en zijn momenteel op EU/UK tour met Fontaines D.C. Deze zomer zijn ze te zien op grote festivals als Reading & Leeds, Primavera Sound en Pukkelpop. In 2024 brachten ze hun veelgeprezen debuutalbum Scream from New York, NY uit.
Nu volgen ze dit op met de melodische en fuzzy single Breakaway, die je hier op Spotify kunt luisteren. Met Breakaway laat de band hun ontwikkeling horen, waar ze zelf over zeggen:
“We needed to capture a few feelings with this song. Some mixture of sadness, anger, regret — and ultimately optimism. When Sky first showed me the initial idea, it struck me how punchy yet melodic it was. There were already a few emotions in the guitar part alone, so the words followed naturally.”
