Het Engelse post-hardcore viertal Enter Shikari viert dit jaar de tiende verjaardag van hun debuutplaat ‘Take To The Skies’ met een reeks data die hen ook tot in Trix Antwerpen brengt deze lente. Zaterdag 13 mei wordt het één groot stevig metal electronicore feest in Trix zaal. De ticketverkoop gaat onmiddellijk van start.
De band onstaat in 2003 als een doorstart van de electrorockband Hybrid wanneer gitarist Liam "Rory" Clewlow aansluit bij zanger/gitarist Rou Reynolds, bassist Chris Batten en drummer Rob Rolfe. Met hun licht ontvlambare nummers en wilde liveshows weten ze zich in geen tijd een stevige livereputatie op te bouwen. Ze worden zo ook de grondleggers van het “electronicore” genre dat punk, hardcore, electronica, dubstep, drum’n’bass en vette rock tot één waanzinnig geheel breit. Het levert hen een gouden plaat op met hun nu tienjarige debuutalbum‘Take To The Skies’, uitgebracht op hun eigen label Ambush Reality, en in 2016 nog de award voor ‘Best British Band’ op de Kerrang! Awards 2016.

"We’re going to be celebrating the 10 year anniversary of our debut album 'Take To The Skies', which feels totally mental in and of itself. The fact that we get to reminisce and relive tracks we recorded so long ago, and that are still held dear by so many, is something I could have never anticipated back then and fills me with appreciation for everyone that has supported this band over the years.
We’ll never write another album like 'Take To The Skies', as Enter Shikari isn’t really a band that looks backwards. But as this is a special occasion it’s important for us to recognise the importance of this album to us, and for the family of people who have supported us since those early days. On a purely selfish note, I cannot wait to play some of the tracks we haven’t played since 2007, or even ever!”
