15 May Advance: Farveblind's Debut Album 'Micro Pleasures' (For fans of Battles, Chemical Brothers, Viagra Boys, Underworld)
Copenhagen trio Farveblind release their highly anticipated debut album 'Micro Pleasures' on 15th May. To mark the album release, the band will share a live session version of focus single 'Knocking Down Your Door' (feat. itcallsme i).
On the album's focus single, Farveblind said:
"Knocking Down Your Door was one of those songs that almost wrote itself. We had Camilla and André in for a session, and we all knew we wanted to make something punchy. The opening riff was actually the first thing we recorded, and the beat and bassline followed instantly. It felt like we had one of those “kick-in-the-door” beats going, and Camilla really brought that energy into the vocals. It’s the kind of song that makes you feel like you’re owning the world."
Produced by Farveblind and mixed by Gustav Brunn (Yung Lean, Viagra Boys), Farveblind's debut album features contributors including Django Django, K.flay, Elliphant, USERS, Foreign Air and Emmeline.
With sonic touchstones ranging from Battles and The Chemical Brothers to Underworld and Viagra Boys, 'Micro Pleasures' pulls together punk volatility, industrial precision, rave nostalgia and widescreen electronic drama into the same gravitational field - carving out moments of euphoria in a culture clouded by apathy, burnout and greed.
Singles preceding the album, the snarling electro-punk dispatch 'Things' (feat. K.Flay), the pounding title track 'Micro Pleasures', the shadowy Emmeline-featuring 'Natural Behaviour', the acid-techno critique 'Salary Man' (with USERS), and the feverish 'Battle Lady-Like' with Foreign Air have seen widespread press support from the likes of The Line of Best Fit, CLASH Magazine, DIY Magazine, Notion, Wonderland, Hard Of Hearing Magazine, Stereoboard, Rough Trade and more.
The Danish trio have been quietly building toward this moment in recent years, with a run of EPs and singles already under their belts. The collaborators on 'Micro Pleasures' reflect relationships built over years of touring and shared scenes. Farveblind approach collaboration not as guest features, but as creative collisions - building what they describe as a “sandbox” where artists can step outside their usual lanes without losing the album’s centre of gravity.
On the release of the album, Farveblind said:
"'Micro Pleasures' is an ode to the small glimpses of happiness you find in the otherwise oppressive mundanity of modern life. It explores how fleeting everyday joys can act as both coping mechanisms and subtle forms of resistance. The album is a collage of work with a lot of very exciting people. It allowed us to tap into genres and energies that wouldn't have been otherwise unavailable to us."
Blurring the line between live punk chaos and club ecstasy, dismantling the barrier between stage and audience, Farveblind’s performances have lit up festivals including Roskilde, Reeperbahn, SPOT Festival and Eurosonic in recent months along with EU/UK tour dates with ROMES, earning them a reputation as one of Europe’s most vital new live acts. With the release of their debut album, the trio step forward as one of the most compelling forces emerging from Copenhagen’s electronic underground.
Farveblind’s debut album 'Micro Pleasures' is out 15th May.
