A message from Mick Box (Uriah Heep)
Uriah Heep, The Scabs, The kids, Belgian Asociality and Don Airey (Deep Purple, UK) will be performing on September 4 and 5 not far from the beautiful castle of Alden Biesen (Bilzen); This year Biesenrock will pay a tribute to the 50 years anniversary of the legendary Jazz Bilzen festival. Until the end of July early bookers can take part in a unique competition with meet & greet with artists, special shirts to celebrate 50 years of Jazz Bilzen, free drink tickets and upgrades to VIP.
Exactly fifty years ago on the Biesen Rock-date, the most iconic festival ever started on Belgian soil. Uriah Heep played in 1977 and 1979 in Bilzen. In a short Youtube-clip Mick Box looks back at that time. Belgium singer Guy Swinnen was only a teenager in the audience at Jazz Bilzen, but did you know that The Scabs participated in the rock competition of the festival but never made it through the selections? 36 years later the Belgian top band have finally made their way to the festival poster (see video).
If you buy your ticket before the end of July you have a chance to take part in a unique competition. Purchase your ticket through our website and you can win meet & greets with bands, unique '50 years anniversary'-shirts Jazz Bilzen, extra drink tickets, upgrades to viptickets and goodies from playing bands.
Biesenrock has also launched a crowdfunding campaign. Through the webshop you can order all sorts of nice items to support the festival. Biesenrock wants to build a solid foundation to an annual high mass dedicated to the legendary Jazz Bilzen by bringing big names from the past to Limburg.
