AB calls on its audience to support the Solidarity Ticket and help make live music accessible to everyone.

In 2022, AB launched its Solidarity Ticket campaign. Funds were raised through a range of activities to enable disadvantaged people to enjoy concerts at AB. In a little over two years, more than 40,000 was raised. This sum went in its entirety towards thousands of Solidarity Tickets: free or affordable tickets for people who struggle to make ends meet.

So far this year, AB has distributed no fewer than 1043 solidarity tickets through associated partner organisations. This total is almost equal to that for the whole year of concerts in 2023. It appears that demand for affordable cultural experiences is higher than ever.

We all need to come together to enjoy cultural experiences. Our Solidarity Ticket can help to reduce the financial barrier for disadvantaged groups.”

AB wants to keep fighting deprivation and hopes to extend this much-needed project further in 2024. It calls upon its audience once more to support the fund. This can be done by donating on the AB website, donating an amount of your choice when buying a ticket or through “cup money”. Every cup thrown into the grey containers during AB concerts is worth 0.10 to the fund.

Solidary tickets are distributed through trusted partner organisations. AB works with Brussels Platform Armoede, Chez Nous/Bij Ons, D’Broej, De Schakel, Globe Aroma, Les Biscuits, Pigment vzw, Sister’s House Brussels and many others. This ensures that the solidarity tickets go to those who really need them.

The money collected is also used to offer discount schemes such as Uitpas, Paspartoe and Article 27, and AB regularly works with partners to provide tours and other extra activities intended to give disadvantaged people the warmest welcome possible.
