Amaseffer Return After 18 Years With New Album When The Lions Leave Their Den – First Single Out August 1

Israeli progressive cinematic metal pioneers AMASEFFER have officially returned. After an 18-year silence, the acclaimed band unveil the first chapter of their long-awaited comeback with the release of the epic title track "When The Lions Leave Their Den" on August 1, 2026, taken from the forthcoming album of the same name, due worldwide on October 8, 2026.

The band's 2008 debut, Slaves For Life, established Amaseffer as one of the most ambitious names in progressive metal, blending crushing riffs, symphonic orchestrations, authentic Middle Eastern instrumentation and cinematic storytelling into an unforgettable musical experience. Now, nearly two decades later, mastermind Erez Yohanan finally continues the band's monumental Exodus trilogy.

The new album, When The Lions Leave Their Den, picks up the Biblical narrative from the day of the Exodus through Moses' ascent to Mount Sinai to receive the Ten Commandments. Rich in orchestral arrangements, authentic folk instrumentation, multilingual narration and cinematic sound design, the album expands Amaseffer's unmistakable vision while introducing a fresh vocal dynamic through new lead singers Lukky Sparxx and Jessica Mercy.

Opening the album is the first single and title track, a sprawling nine-minute progressive epic that encapsulates every element of Amaseffer's unique sound. "When The Lions Leave Their Den" tells a story of hope, liberation and triumph over oppression, following the Hebrews as they leave Egypt and begin their arduous journey toward the Promised Land under the leadership of Moses. The song moves from darkness into light, combining powerful orchestral passages, heavy guitars, ethnic influences and cinematic atmospheres into an immersive musical experience.

Written, composed and produced by Erez Yohanan, the album was recorded between 2025 and 2026, mixed and mastered by Markus Teske (Bazement Studio, Germany), with artwork by renowned fantasy artist Mattias Norén.

Beyond Amaseffer, Yohanan has built an impressive career as a producer, composer and audio designer, collaborating with artists including Orphaned Land, Scardust, Desert, Stormy Atmosphere, Orpheus Blade and many others. His work also extends into theatre productions, film scores and video game audio design for companies including Ubisoft and Psyonix.
