Astro Lloyd - "Music For People - New Album - Out On 16th Of October, 2026.

Astro-Lloyd is back with their third album "Music For People", to be released on the 16th of October 2026.

After more than fifteen years of writing, recording and playing alternative rock on their own terms, Astro-Lloyd returns with their brand new album.

For fifteen years Astro-Lloyd have quietly carved out their own corner of the Scandinavian alternative rock scene. Rather than chasing trends, the band has focused on writing energetic songs with memorable melodies, enough edge to keep things interesting, and just enough quirks to make them unmistakably their own. The band describes their philosophy simply: "We don't try to reinvent alternative rock. We just try to write the kind of songs we'd be disappointed not to discover ourselves." - Astro Lloyd

For this record, unlike our their previously ones, they tried to be much more in the moment and trust what feels right at the time. In the past, they could spend weeks trying to find the perfect lead guitar part. This time, it was more about what felt right when they were recording, even if it wasn’t necessarily what was ‘best’ for the song on paper. The same goes for the vocals. They went into the studio with half-finished lyrics and maybe an idea of where the melody could go, and a couple of hours later they walked out with a finished song. That’s something they probably wouldn’t have dared to do a few years ago.

"Lyrically, the album is about accepting yourself and the things you might see as flaws — whether it’s the way you look, procrastinating, overthinking, whatever. Instead of constantly feeling like shit about those things, it’s about embracing them and owning them. Maybe that’s one of the good things about getting older: you stop trying so hard to be someone you’re not, and start figuring out how to turn the things you used to see as weaknesses into an advantage. At some point you just have to stop feeling bad about who you are and figure out how to make it work for you." - Astro Lloyd.

They tried to sound more like Astro-Lloyd than ever on this record, while also stripping away the things that were only there because they were fun for them as musicians. In the past, they could sometimes write music for musicians. This time, it’s much more about what actually makes the song better and what makes the feeling hit immediately.

They chose to work with Joakim Lindberg at Studio Sickan because they liked what he had done with other Swedish bands. They were looking for both a specific sound and the feeling that you’re actually in the room with them when they play. They didn’t want the album to just sound good in headphones — they wanted it to feel like you’re standing next to us when they play.

“Joakim quickly understood what we were aiming for. It’s not just about how the drums or guitars sound, but about the feeling in the room. We wanted people to be able to listen to the album and feel like they’re standing right there with us as the song unfolds, rather than feeling like everything has been taken apart and put back together again.”. - Astro Lloyd
