Astro-Lloyd return with their new single "Mostly Harmless (Feat. Olivia Marthina)", the third single from their upcoming third album called "Music for People”, to be released on the 16th of October, 2026.
After more than fifteen years of writing, recording and playing alternative rock on their own terms, Astro-Lloyd returns with "Mostly Harmless", the third single from their upcoming third album.
“Mostly Harmless is a return to our punk rock roots, but with everything we’ve learned along the way. It’s rawer and more direct than much of what we’ve done before, and we wanted to preserve that initial feeling in the recording. In the past, we could spend two years working on a song and eventually almost forget why we wrote it in the first place. This time, we’ve worked much more from the feeling of the moment. What are we trying to say? What does the song need to truly shine? And how do we hold on to that when we record it? We’ve tried to sound more like Astro-Lloyd than ever before, while at the same time stripping away anything that’s only there because it’s fun for us as musicians to play. In the past, we could sometimes write music for musicians. Now, it’s more about what actually makes the song better and what makes the feeling hit immediately.” – Andreas Jabrell, Astro-Lloyd
For fifteen years Astro-Lloyd have quietly carved out their own corner of the Scandinavian alternative rock scene. Rather than chasing trends, the band has focused on writing energetic songs with memorable melodies, enough edge to keep things interesting, and just enough quirks to make them unmistakably their own. The band describes their philosophy simply: "We don't try to reinvent alternative rock. We just try to write the kind of songs we'd be disappointed not to discover ourselves."
Talking about working with and recording the together with Joakim Lindberg at Studio Sickan, Andreas had this to say:
“Joakim quickly understood what we were aiming for. It’s not just about how the drums or guitars sound, but about the feeling in the room. We wanted people to be able to listen to the album and feel like they’re standing right there with us as the song unfolds, rather than feeling like everything has been taken apart and put back together again.”.
Mostly Harmless is released on the 17th of September, 2026, and gives the third and last glimpse of Astro-Lloyd's next chapter, before the third full-length album arrives alongside a run of live shows across Sweden and Scandinavia.
