Beachpeople Releases New Single 'LEAVING THE BAND'

Former AnnenMayKantereit bassist Malte Huck left the successful pop-rock band in the hope of freedom, self-determination and staying grounded. Now he sings about this life-changing decision on the single “LEAVING THE BAND” and is going on tour in Europe.

The main idea for the single is finding your own voice. Overcoming challenges that seem too big. The freedom of a new beginning. With “LEAVING THE BAND”, Malte Huck not only reflects on his decision to leave AnnenMayKantereit, but also uses this moment in his life to explore the personal implications of this. It is about the supposed connection between success and happiness, the freedom from anonymity, the pain of separation and the freedom that can follow. The subject of addiction also comes up and with it the desire to be out, to be numb, a kind of inward-looking wanderlust.

For the first time, he expresses in his own words what had previously been speculation and industry gossip, while also paving the way for himself. “I STOPPED TO COUNT THE NUMBERS AND STARTED TO DREAM AGAIN.” As with many debuts, the journey of finding one's own voice and writing one's own story is a subtle yet distinct theme. Subtle, because Malte Huck has been making music for so long and knows exactly how it should sound. But this time, he’s doing it alone, without a band as a safety net.
