Benjamin Rajani Announces Debut Album "Tá hvørt ljós líkist tær" & Releases New Single 'Lívsins balking'

Today, Faroese singer-songwriter Benjamin Rajani returns with his new single ‘Lívsins balking’ (EN: ‘The Balcony of Life’), which is the third single of his forthcoming debut album “Tá hvørt ljós líkist tær” (EN: “When Every Light Resembles You”), releasing on March 28th via Tutl Records.

Benjamin Rajani’s new single ‘Lívsins balkong’ is full of nostalgy and is a heartfelt ode to the golden days of youth and the power of friendship. With warm melodies and evocative lyrics, the track invites the listener to reflect on the memories and connections that shape us.

When sharing about the song, Benjamin stated “I wrote ‘Lívsins balkong’ one night in Manchester when I was feeling especially nostalgic for those long Faroese summer nights spent with friends, making memories. The longing for simpler times hit me, and writing the song turned out to be one of the most memorable songwriting experiences I’ve ever had.”

His debut album “Tá hvørt ljós líkist tæ” features an intriguing mix of indie folk/singer-songwriter elements, as well as baroque pop string and horn arrangements reminiscent of The Beatles and The Beach Boys.

Writing about various aspects of love - the highs and the lows - as well as nostalgia for the simpler times of childhood and youth, this collaboration promises to highlight Benjamin’s emotive storytelling, offering listeners depth and intimacy.

Benjamin Rajani is a gifted Faroese singer/songwriter with a distinct flair for moving poetry and captivating melodies. His music is characterized by Nordic melancholy and is inspired by artists such as Sufjan Stevens and Sigur Rós. While studying for a psychology degree in England, Benjamin’s love for his native tongue, Faroese, started to grow. This wasreflected in his song writing, as he wrote more than 90 songs in Faroese during that time.
