Faroese Artist Benjamin Rajani Releases New Single "Mánakvøld"

Faroese Indie-folk singer-songwriter Benjamin Rajani is thrilled to unveil his new single “Mánakvøld”, out today via Tutl Records.

In Faroese, “Mánakvøld” carries dual meaning, translating to both “Monday” and “Moon Night” – mirroring the song’s lyrical and emotional contrast. A day often associated with routine is transformed into a night filled with magic and wonder. The song captures and describes the feeling of invincibility and endless opportunity when having the person you love by your side. Featuring captivating and soothing guitar melodies, as well as soft drums and ambient soundscapes, “Mánakvøld” is a song that comes at the right time as autumn sets in, inviting listeners to a space of warmth and introspection.

When sharing about the making of the song, Benjamin said "With 'Mánakvøld,' I wanted to capture the feeling of youth and falling in love. To me, endless car rides under a moonlit sky—where time feels infinite and every moment is filled with possibility—encapsulate that perfectly."

Benjamin Rajani is a gifted Faroese singer/songwriter with a distinct flair for moving poetry and captivating melodies. His music is characterized by Nordic melancholy and is inspired by artists such as Sufjan Stevens and Sigur Rós. While studying for a psychology degree in England, Benjamin’s love for his native tongue, Faroese (a language spoken by fewer than 70,000 people), started to grow. This was reflected in his songwriting, as he wrote more than 90 songs in Faroese during that time.

National Broadcast Company, KVF, wrote: “Benjamin has a true X-factor that is hard to describe... it is interwoven with atmosphere, charm, and fundamental musicality.”
