Bone China release second single 'You're Wonderful' via Blitzcat Records

London-based newcomers Bone China today release their second single 'You're Wonderful' via UK tastemaker label Blitzcat Records (C Turtle, Flip Top Head), following the release of their debut single 'Heaven Now' earlier this year.

Languid, lo-fi indie-rock with a blurred, dreamlike quality, 'You're Wonderful' distils the excitement of growing up - using the complications of a romantic relationship to explore the drifting of time.

'You're Wonderful' was the first song ever written by Bone China. Developed from an early instrumental brought in by guitarist Ben Anthony, much of the recording was captured in first takes, between vocalist and lyricist Luke Stanton's flat and a makeshift studio in Hackney across 2025.

Layered, grungy guitars and understated drums give the track a sense of warmth, with sweeping strings and an accompanying female vocal weaving through the arrangement, while Stanton's largely improvised vocals retain the spontaneity of those initial sessions.

Speaking on the track, Luke Stanton said:

"I suppose this song covers a few different narratives. It follows the romance of a distanced relationship. It confesses self-awareness and punctures the bubble of uncertainty into a confusing mess of this and that. As time went on I started to realise this track wasn't necessarily my story but a collection of stories I'd absorbed and resonated with. It celebrates women and confesses the frustration of man but colours in the gaps with a playfulness.

"You know how the TV gets rolled into the classroom. Waiting for your chippy tea. Driving with your mates in an 04 plate. Seeing your crush in tracky bottoms. Down the Blockbuster with your Dad. Burning CDs. Your personality being the pictures on the wall. That's how the sound of this track makes me feel. A millennial memory that hits the heart in the same way an ill-fated romance does - I guess I just chose to channel it through a love story and that's how I sit with all these themes in one room."

Originally formed by Luke Stanton (Stoke-on-Trent) and Ben Anthony (Hertfordshire), who first met at university in Chester before reconnecting in London, Bone China began as an informal writing project with no immediate intention of becoming a band.

Following the release of 'Heaven Now', Bone China have played an array of shows in London, including supporting Vundabar and Yot Club at Village Underground, alongside further dates with fellow UK rising acts Little Grandad, casual smart, Corin V, Drainfly and Jonique.

These performances proved formative, with the band have developing from a duo into a four-piece, with friends Tennyson Whyte and Catherine 'Kitty' Kitchen joining the line-up as the band's sound continues to evolve.

Drawing on 90s guitar music, with influences ranging from Tom Waits and Elliott Smith to Soundgarden and Radiohead, Bone China's songwriting is rooted in memory and subconscious creation, with further new music planned over the coming months.

'You're Wonderful' is out now on Blitzcat Records.
