Browsing Collection release the single Broken Bone Blues from their latest album 'Cyber Space Buffet'

With their metal-influenced punk rock and huge drive, Browsing Collection have brought salvation to audiences from stages all over Sweden and at several of the country's biggest music festivals. In the recent years, they have toured frequently in Europe and also made two tours in South Korea. The band has been playing together for over ten years and has also written music for Swedish national television and for Star Stable, one of the world's largest online games. Their latest singles have landed several major Spotify listings such as Hard Rock and RIFFS. Browsing Collection never have a quiet moment so they obviously have more projects going on. In recent summers, they have been on site in Sölvesborg to hold a music camp in conjunction with the country's biggest rock festival Sweden Rock Festivalto inspire more girls and transgender people to take their place in the male-dominated rock scene. This is part of an extensive work on gender equality that is very close to the heart.

Browsing Collection released their second album 'Cyber Space Buffet' earlier this spring and now return with the single Broken Bone Blues and the members explain the work on it and the decision to release two remixes;

"The Broken Bone Blues journey to its present form has been long and crooked. It has been with us for almost 4 years and has been reworked about ten times (exaggerated for dramatic effect). If you had heard the first version, you probably would never have been able to guess what song it was. When we entered the studio we were still unsure of the song's form and sound, but fully trusted that our producer Nicklas Eklund would help us create magic. And it is the process that is the most important thing in creating music, so even though we had a hard time finding home with Broken Bone Blues in the beginning, we did not want to give up and in the end it became our absolute favorite and had to fill one of nine places on the album.

- Why did we choose to have artists do remixes on the song?

The long journey to the finished product has made Broken Bone Blues extra warm to our hearts. It is the child who has had a hard time, but clearly just needed a little extra love to reach his full potential. That is why we feel that Broken Bone Blues undoubtedly deserves some extra time in the lime light. Since the song already stands out with sampled drums (folding chair) and a little more mystery and ambivalence than we are used to, it felt silly to just leave it at that. Why not create more mystery and ambivalence with the fantastic musicians and producers we have in our friend circles?"

"Drinking too much Minttu and climbing a container is not a good idea. For me, it resulted in a broken arm, six metal screws and two months at home on the couch. But despite the misery and far too many bad TV-series, it is also one of the best things to happen to me. Without the clumsy bone fracture, this song would never have existed.

Broken Bone Blues is about how easy it is to spend too much time in cyber space and forget that we are actually living individuals. The song was written with the hope that more people will come to understand about the social media's sick takeover but above all about how fucking cool it is with bass solos!"

Since we worked an unreasonably long time on this song, it would also be interesting to hear someone else's version of it. It's not just bass, guitar, drums with a yummy punk tune, like our other songs. We felt it had the potential to be played around with! We also never got / made any remixes on our songs before, so Broken Bone Blues was a great test rabbit!"

"Broken Bone Blues is a very different song, drumming. When I came to the studio and was going to record this song, I still didn't know how to play at all. The song more or less came to be in the studio and in the arrangement, which was very special. Instead of recording a whole drum kit, we recorded bit by bit and suddenly our producer was knocking on various chairs, cases and bags in the studio instead of me sitting behind the drums and recording the whole song. The song builds constantly from beginning to end. The end result was awesome and the bass solo is my absolute favorite part of the whole song!"
