Burden Of Life sign deal with NOIZGATE Records

Right in time for the holiday season NOIZGATE Records has a neat surprise ready: By signing BURDEN OF LIFE the label from Bielefeld secures itself some ambitious enhancement on the melodic death metal front. The high flyers from Regensburg impress with their very own, innovative style of music: Complex arrangements and progressive song structures meeting with brute force, an enormous portion of groove – and some really catchy hooklines: An impressively versatile sound, BURDEN OF LIFE have long since made a name for themselves with throughout the German metal scene.

Founded in 2004, BURDEN OF LIFE are looking back on a long list of gigs and festivals, having played alongside well-known entities such as Blind Guardian, Ektomorf, Moonspell or Soilwork. Their fans know: If this quartet enters the stage, hair will be flying. A sore neck is guaranteed!

In the good ten years of their existence, BURDEN OF LIFE, who come from a classic melodic death metal background, have developed a sound, which admittedly doesn’t deny this origin, but expands it by many components. Christian Kötterl (vocals, guitar), Michael Schafberger (guitar), Karl-Arnold Bodarwé (bass) and Matthias Babl (drums) caused a first stir releasing a self-produced demo, simply titled “Burden Of Life”, in 2007. With their debut album “Ashes Of Existence” (2008) and the EP “In the Wake Of My Demise” (2010) there were two more self-releases to follow. Their second LP, the concept album “The Vanity Syndrome” (2013, Firefield Records) attracted a great deal of attention far beyond the death metal scene and also made the established music press prick up their ears.

Together with NOIZGATE Records the quartet now wants to tackle the next steps up the career ladder. “With reference to our band name, it’s almost funny, how many obstacles we had to overcome to get to this point”, mastermind Christian Kötterl reveals. “With NOIZGATE Records we have a motivated and passionate team standing behind us and our music, ready to give us all the support we have desired for such a long time.”
