The Jack Wharff Band Announce Debut Album 'Coming Home' + Single 'Torn Up Sweater' Out Now

In the past year, Virginia-bred four-piece The Jack Wharff Band has established itself as one of country music’s most exciting rising acts. Following a breakout year that included an electrifying performance at Nissan Stadium during CMA Fest, appearances at major festivals including Country Thunder and Rock the Country, and support dates alongside Ole 60, Max McNown and Flatland Cavalry, the band announces its highly anticipated debut album, Coming Home, on Friday, December 4 via Big Machine Records.

The Jack Wharff Band offers a teaser of what’s to come on the full-length LP with its new song “Torn Up Sweater.”

Pairing the band's signature Appalachian thrashgrass sound with the melancholic edge of '90s grunge, the emotionally charged “Torn Up Sweater” captures the raw fear of not being enough for the person you love, but trying anyway. Written by lead singer Jack Wharff alongside Joe Clemmons, Henry Harrup and Karen Kasowski and produced by Justin Eckerd, the track explores the tension between wanting to let someone in and fearing that once they see you for who you truly are, you'll inevitably let them down.

"’Torn up Sweater’ is about the frustration and anxiety behind letting someone you love down," says The Jack Wharff Band.

Co-written entirely by vocalist/frontman Jack Wharff, Coming Home finds Wharff, drummer Garrett Howell, bassist Ryan Atchison and guitarist Evan Novoa delivering their “electrifying fusion of country, rock, and bluegrass” (Country Now) across 14 tracks exploring the people, places and experiences that shape who we become. Rooted in the importance of home and the ties that bind us to where we come from, the album navigates love and heartbreak, healing, faith and personal growth. Throughout Coming Home, The Jack Wharff Band explores what it means to wander away from home and find it again, whether in the people we love, the places we belong or the faith that grounds us.
