C'mon Tigre releases new album" LUMINA"

Across C’mon Tigre‘s discography there has always been an unresolved tension between tradition and experimentation, a balance sought from record to record without ever wanting to declare it. LUMINA is the point where that tension both explodes and resolves: the electronic dimension takes all the space it needs, stops being a guest and becomes architecture.

Thirteen tracks conceived as a continuous flow, where arpeggiators and rhythmic sequences coexist with the warmth of acoustic instruments: oud, cello, xylophone, vibraphone, percussion. The four-to-the-floor kick holds everything together, but it is never a concession to formula. It is an invitation to get lost. The voice appears only where words are truly needed to guide the narrative: everywhere else it is shaped, dissolved, reintegrated into the electronic fabric without any nostalgia for its origin.

There is a question running through the entire record, and it is not an aesthetic one: it is about how music is made now, at a moment when technology has changed not just the instruments but the way we perceive sound, time, physical presence. The answer we looked for is not a synthesis of opposing worlds. It is something more unstable: a balance that never closes, holding body and machine, ritual and experimentation together, without either side prevailing or being reduced to a quotation of the other.

“The club and the rave have always fascinated us precisely for this reason. Not as a genre, but as a form of experience”. What philosopher Hakim Bey calls a Temporary Autonomous Zone: a microcosm that suspends the rules of productive society, where in the darkness of the dancefloor social status blurs and identity dissolves into the community. Not the anonymous crowd, but a collective body that forms and dissolves around the rhythm. The neo-tribalism Maffesoli wrote about, updated to a sub-bass frequency.

That rhythm is not alienation. It is the mechanism of a ritual. Like the drums in the Dionysian cults, the obsessive repetition of the kick depletes the rational self to release something older: a catharsis that is not isolation but communion with the other bodies in the space. LUMINA begins there, from that possibility. It neither imitates the club nor celebrates the stage: it builds its own space, where listening becomes a physical fact before an intellectual one.

“The tracks found their first public form on stage before they even had a name. The show that debuted at Robot Festival in Bologna in October 2025 and at JazzMi in Milan in November 2025 was not a preview: it was a live test, an undeclared presentation of music that was still taking shape. We wanted to know what happened when that music met bodies. The answer became the record.”
