"Crosswalk". : first ever single + music video out now!

the birth of a brand new project that's sure to delight fans of heavy guitar music: Random Hearts! A true all-star band straight out of Besançon (is the new Boston) in France, composed of current and former members of Jack & The Bearded Fishermen, Nothing To Prove, and Wendy's Surrender. They'll be releasing their debut album, Love PTSD, on February 20th via MA Såret Records, Araki Records, Mighty Worm, Dingleberry Records, Affliction Records, and Emergence Records. A pure and total blast of 90s post hardcore vibes, both energetic and sensitive, poised to deliver bangers and sure to make its mark in early 2026. For now, Wednesday, December 17th, is definitely a day to be remembered with "Crosswalk". First single of all time, therefore, and one that would be sacrilege to miss, especially if you're a fan of bands like Quicksand, Title Fight, and of course Deftones (best band in the world, I don't remember if I've already said that?).

The opening track of Love PTSD, "Crosswalk" is actually the last of the 10 songs Random Hearts wrote before crossing France to record this debut album. In this instance, they recorded under the guidance of Christophe Hogommat, who had impressed the band members with his work on the latest album by the Nantes-based band Watertank (and, as a reminder, the mastering was handled by Thibault Chaumont, known for his work with It It Anita, Birds In Row, Carpenter Brut, and others). It's also the only track composed as a quartet, based on ideas by Jean-Philippe Putaud (vocals/guitar), while the rest of the album was conceived by two or three members. Its placement as the first one on the tracklist quickly became obvious, as its very short intro gets straight to the point. Furthermore, Random Hearts considers "Crosswalk" to be the most representative of the band's musical vision. A steroid-fueled riffing clashes with dynamic melodies, creating an incredibly catchy feel. It's a true synthesis of all the band's 90s post-hardcore and emo rock influences, sprinkled with noisier moments reminiscent of Breach... and even a nod to The Police with the double vocals on its chorus. The songs from Love PTSD revolve around love in its individual, collective, and therefore sometimes moral dimensions. "Crosswalk" addresses consent, carefully avoiding the pitfall of a preachy stance. The image of the pedestrian crossing paradoxically symbolizes both a safe zone and a dangerous place: once crossing, one must be able to stop and reverse if the light turns red. These lyrics question man’s position, his personal and collective responsibility within a system. The chosen words are intended to be simple and catchy, but the audience is free to interpret them in their own way.

To illustrate "Crosswalk", Random Hearts unveils a music video directed by Jean-Philippe, with the collaboration of Thomas Dubois (guitarist of Alta Rossa). The staging is simple yet incredibly effective, with a DIY aesthetic and a homemade decor. Individual shots of each band member follow one another, showing them in their own space as they perform this single, while what lies beyond the frame is intentionally revealed.
