Dagny shares new single 'Rain' - new album 'Dancefloor Erotica' out 12th June
Norwegian pop force Dagny has shared new single 'Rain' - the final taste of her much-anticipated third album Dancefloor Erotica - out 12th June.
Dagny will celebrate the new album release with a headline performance at Bergenfest on 12th June, ahead of her headline slot closing Øya Festival in Oslo on 15th August. Dagny has also recently announced a UK / EU headline tour for 2027 - including London’s Electric Ballroom on 2nd February.
New single 'Rain,' the third single to be revealed from her upcoming album, was written with Dagny's long-term collaborators Kent and Cato Sundberg (whom she previously worked with on singles including 'Somebody', 'Brightsider') and Nick Hahn.
With its playful rhythms and huge, classic pop choruses, 'Rain' is a song written about letting go of what no longer serves you, Dagny explains:
"Rain started out being about how in most relationships that have run their course - whether they’re platonic or romantic - there are always two sides to every story. Two versions of events. Two memories that don’t always match up. For me, the song evolved into something more. It became less about looking backwards and more about looking forward. Simply about not letting the past consume you, but instead letting it go."
New album Dancefloor Erotica follows her critically acclaimed 2020 debut 'Strangers / Lovers' and its follow up 'ELLE', released in 2024.
Dagny has so far shared two previews of the album in title track 'Dancefloor Erotica' and recent single 'Closet Disco Queen' - both produced by Matias Tellez (girl in red, AURORA) and co-written with Nick Hahn (ZAYN, Mimi Webb, aespa).
Elsewhere, new album Dancefloor Erotica reveals darker edges and more uncompromising moments: from the club-driven 'Gosh!' featuring Metteson, to the hard-hitting production on 'Black Bugatti', and the playful disco references woven through 'C’est La Vie' and 'Sweat'. Across the record, heavy basslines and playful synths wrap around Dagny’s electric vocals, as the listener is taken through packed clubs and hectic streets with pop songs that constantly offer an extra twist or an unexpected turn.
Speaking ahead of the album release later this month, Dagny said:
"The goal was to create something unique and fun - something unapologetically bold and unconventional, filled with movement, freedom, and self-empowerment. An album where the gaze of others and the inner critic are pushed aside, and where we coined the term ‘Scandinavian Strut’ and used it as our guiding principle."
Dagny's new album 'Dancefloor Erotica' is out 12th June via Universal Music AS Norway & Polydor DE / Little Daggers Records. Dagny headlines Øya Festival and Bergenfest this summer and embarks on a EU / UK headline tour in Jan / Feb 2027. Tickets for Dagny's 2027 headline tour are on sale now HERE.

Dagny's music has been streamed over a billion times, she's been nominated for 7 Norwegian Grammy's (Spellemannprisen), co-written songs for Katy Perry, Ashnikko, and Julie Bergan, and collaborated with acts including Liverpool indie-rock heroes The Wombats, American super-producer Steve Aoki, fellow Norwegian powerhouses Kygo, Astrid S and Seeb, and Spanish-English indie-pop outfit Crystal Fighters.
Dagny's debut album 'Strangers / Lovers', released in May 2020 proved her credentials, spawning hit single "Somebody" with over 100 million streams on Spotify alone, with high praise coming in for the album from The Guardian ("thundering synthpop explosion”), The Independent ("dazzling pop - 8/10"), BBC Music ("one of 2020's most assured debuts"), The Metro ("sleak, neat set of bops - Albums Of The Week") and more.
Mini-album 'ELLE' followed in 2024. Another tantalising snapshot into her pop-powers, the album received widespread support from The Independent, CLASH, The Line of Best Fit, NME, Dork Magazine & more - culminating in a momentous sold-out 10,000-capacity Oslo Spektrum Arena headline show.
2025 saw Dagny tour Europe and Norway extensively, with an array of Norwegian festival headline slots, and runs as main support to Jess Glynne and Justin Timberlake.
