Huminal returns to This Never Happened ahead of two Lane 8 European tour dates

Huminal returns to This Never Happened with Waves / Killing My Fear ahead of ‘Waves / Killing My Fear’ is the new EP from Dutch producer Huminal, out today on This Never Happened. The release comes ahead of two dates supporting Lane 8 in Berlin and Hamburg this November, as part of his upcoming European tour. Focus track 'Waves' is a playful progressive house cut inspired by a phrase born on a night out with friends: it comes in waves.

What started as an inside joke quickly became a mantra to live by. “Now, whenever life hits hard, this phrase is my reminder to accept life as it is and not take things too seriously, Huminal explains. "It's a nod to that night and to the friends who ride those waves with me".

‘Killing My Fear’ explores similar themes of strength and resilience through darker, more club-ready rhythms”.

The EP follows 'On and On / Lotus', a deeply personal project that paid tribute to his late father. The EP picked up support from SLAM! FM, with an interview and mix airing on The Mix Marathon in September, as well as Discovery Service, Melodic District and Melodic Deep. DJ support across the two tracks included Eelke Kleijn, who closed out his set at Thuishaven with ‘Lotus' , Above & Beyond, Lane 8, Sultan Shepard, Nora En Pure and Mees Saloné. Huminal’s music has previously been championed by Armin van Buuren on 583 Dance Department, SiriusXM Chill and Sunshine Live.

Recent live highlights include a sold-out Thuishaven for Mees Salomé’s Distant event series, major Dutch festivals like Komm Schon Alter and Loveland, and a closing set after Stephan Bodzin at Het Sieraad Amsterdam. Huminal also launched Inner Rhythms earlier this year, a new no-phones event series that champions long-form DJ sets to deepen the connection between music and fans. Designed as an extension of his monthly radio and mix series, the first event took place at The Other Side in Amsterdam and was praised by DJ Mag NL.

Huminal (Jelle Jansen) is known for blending organic, analogue sounds with crisp rhythmic structures to create a soundscape that feels vibrant and energetic. Having spent the last few years carving a space for himself within the melodic and progressive scene, he has released on labels including Purified, This Never Happened, Interstellar and Einmusika. Live highlights include major Dutch festivals like Komm Schon Alter, Wintergarden, Loveland and Melody Garden, as well as venues like Thuishaven, Het Sieraad and Berlin’s.
