Junkyard Drive releases final single and video 'Learning To Lose' from from new album 'SQUEEZE' and embarks on Danish tour
Today, Danish rock combo Junkyard Drive release the fourth and final single ‘Learning To Lose’ from their upcoming album ‘SQUEEZE’ out November 6th. The song is a fun fast melodic rock track hailing playfulness, art and joy over money and status, and the release is accompanied by an entertaining video, shot on the band’s recent German and British tour.
Singer Kristian Johansen states on ‘Learning To Lose’:
“Learning To Lose is the ultimate loser anthem, written as a reminder to ourselves not to take life too seriously. The song flips the script. Here, the societal loser, the rock musician turns out to be the real winner, simply because he refuses to run the perfection race. We live in a culture that demands a new car, a high-paying office job, and a Prada bag to be accepted.
We think that's fucking ridiculous, and it's definitely not for us. "Learning To Lose" is an invitation to join us on the dark side. Let's aim to be real losers instead of fake winners.”
In support of ‘SQUEEZE’ and the four singles, Junkyard Drive recently brought their high-powered show to Germany and UK for 12 dates, and the tour continues in October through to March with 17 Danish dates. Tickets for the tour are available HERE.

Junkyard Drive’s new album SQUEEZE is the result of an uncompromising DIY approach, with the band taking charge of the entire process themselves, from the very first demo to the final release. The album was made possible thanks to enormous support from the band’s loyal fans, who funded the release through a crowdfunding campaign. For the recordings, they teamed up with producers Mads Mølgaard and Christian Afel at the former Farvemøllen in Copenhagen’s Nordvest district, where they spent a month immersed in creativity, experimentation, and the urge to create, in symbiosis with their two new collaborators.
The result of those joyful efforts is Junkyard Drive’s new album SQUEEZE – ten modern, energetic, and melodic rock songs that redefine the band’s sound without losing their characteristic expression, sky-high energy level, or accomplished songwriting. While the band’s previous records were heavily influenced by the classic rock idols of the ’70s and ’80s, in recent years they have incorporated more modern elements and inspirations pointing towards the pop-punk era of the 2000s and further into the new millennium.
The album title comes from the band’s internal expression “Squeezing the bottle”: the last drops that especially thirsty souls try to squeeze out of the bottle. It serves as a metaphor for the pressure you can be subjected to as an artist – and, not least, the pressure you put on yourself and on each other - a main theme on the record. In love, you sometimes push both yourself and your partner to the very edge, but love can also become the force that holds everything together and ultimately sets the individual free.
Since their inception in 2014, Junkyard Drive has made a mark on the rock scene with intense energy and unequivocal passion. After cementing their reputation with the albums ‘Black Coffee’ and ‘Electric Love’, they have proven their ability to evolve and create music that resonates, latest with ‘Look At Me Now’ from 2024. With four critical acclaimed albums and over 200 live performances in 16 countries, including Sweden Rock Festival (2018), Copenhell (2022) and 36 other festivals all over Europe, shows that Junkyard Drive live for the live-experience and the connection with an audience who, after 11 years has become an extended family.
