Danish rockers Junkyard Drive releases second single 'Echo' from forthcoming album 'SQUEEZE'

In May, Danish leading rock band Junkyard Drive returned with the new single and video ‘Ordinary', showcasing a new tale on their unique style, while announcing the new album ‘SQUEEZE’ for a November 6th release. Today, the band shares the new album's second single ‘Echo’ that alongside the other new songs points in a new direction, while maintaining the band’s trademark sound, high energy and superb songwriting.

Junkyard Drive is not a band that holds back, but are known for speaking their mind on what they feel is important as humans and musicians, and equally so on the new single. Lead singer Kristian Johansen explains the message of ‘Echo’:

“Far too often we’ve had to listen to the old guard in the industry and their nostalgic stories about how everything was much better back in the day. It’s so predictable when their mental cassette tapes keep looping. And the longer the echo rings out, the more it emphasizes that they’re just repeating the same empty phrases without any renewal.”

In support of their upcoming album ‘SQUEEZE’, Junkyard Drive will bring their drawing and high-powered show on the road with 24 shows in Denmark, Germany and UK. The band has just added two German July dates as support for Steel Panther, and more dates will be announced. Tickets for the tour are available HERE.

Since their inception in 2014, Junkyard Drive has made a mark on the rock scene with intense energy and unequivocal passion. After cementing their reputation with the albums ‘Black Coffee’ and ‘Electric Love’, they have proven their ability to evolve and create music that resonates, latest with ‘Look At Me Now’ from 2024.

With the new album, Junkyard Drive has broken with their usual framework and gone 100% independent. The album is the result of an uncompromising DIY approach, where the band has taken full control of the entire process, from the first demo to the release. They haven’t been entirely alone, however. ‘SQUEEZE’ has come together with massive support from the band’s loyal fans (Junkyard Rebels), who made the release possible through crowdfunding. It’s rock ’n’ roll at eye level, funded by the very people it’s all about: The audience.

Junkyard Drive have long since cemented their status as one of Denmark’s strongest live acts. With their roots firmly planted in classic rock, yet with a modern melodic touch, they have carved out their own distinct lane in the musical landscape. The last couple of years have gone by, with rocket speed, supporting Steel Panther, Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons and The Lazys, three european tours and 75 show-nights.

With four critical acclaimed albums and over 200 live performances in 16 countries, including Sweden Rock Festival (2018), Copenhell (2022) and 36 other festivals all over, shows with a band that, like Junkyard Drive, live for the live-experience and the connection with an audience who, after 11 years has become an extended family in and of itself.
