Dir en Grey - 'The Unstoppable Life' Tour
Just one year after its founding in 1997, Dir En Grey sold out a 12,000-Hall in Tokyo at once. The start of an impressive career. The band's uniqueness and success are based on emotional responses to music: pain, sadness, anger, frustration, alienation are pent up emotions that move the young generation in Japan. Dir En Grey quickly became a cult band not only in Japan but throughout Asia. Sold out tours and six digit sales numbers are standard. In 2005, they first came to Europe and sold the tickets in record time. For the concert in Berlin, it took only 72 hours to all tickets to be sold out. A year later they repeated this success and played with Korn and Deftones in front of more than 700,000 fans in the United States.
Experimental sound structures, heavy riffs, melancholic parts presented in a dark manner determine the instrumental side of music, the spectrum of frontman Kyo ranges from wonderful melodic harmonies to seemingly maddening song structures. Dir En Grey give an uncompromising note among the few international acts and in 2011 the never changing quartet enthralled the crowd on the'Wacken' Festival. As before, their rare concerts in Germany are always sold out and provide their fans with pure enthusiasm. After releasing their last album ARCHE in march 2015, they have now announced a set of dates for their European tour in May 2015, called The Unstoppable Life - unstoppable just as them.
