Douglas Firs releases A Live EP

It's a very busy year for Douglas Firs. A few months ago they released their critically acclaimed third album Hinges of Luck, and since then frontman Gertjan Van Hellemont was virtually non-stop on the road. With his friends and top musicians who complete Douglas Firs: Simon Casier (Balthazar), Laurens Billiet and big brother Sem. Or with that other band: The Bony King of Nowhere.

The Hinges of Luck Tour started in the AB Club - wich was sold out weeks before - and continued to other venues like The Roma, Nest Gent, The Casino and Paradiso Amsterdam. Then the band played large halls in the Netherlands as support for Triggerfinger. Singles Hannah and Judy came out before summer. Together with the more subdued How Can You Know? (that Bazartman Mathieu Terryn shared the song on his Instagram after hearing it on the radio). After that they played festivals like Dr. Dranouter, Cactus Festival, Labadoux, Linkerwoofer, Boomtown and in the autumn, they will play the AB again, but then the big AB this time. For the very first time. Exciting? Exciting!

And now, after the band has played a lot of live shows they will release a A Live EP. The first single is called Everything's A Lie. It sounds like they had a lot of fun in the studio making this record. The song sounds as if Courtney Barnett invited Jack White for a coffee. At the mixing desk was Kevin Ratterman, known for his work with Ray Lamontagne and My Morning Jacket.
