Dubinski Unveil The Video For Fierce New Single “Ciggy Burns”

Indie rock sibling quartet Dubinski have unveiled the video for their powerful new single “Ciggy Burns”, watch here.

Opening with a Franz Ferdinand-esque propulsive riff, “Ciggy Burns” rips from the start and doesn’t let up for a second. The track explores the destructive power of an inner voice that feeds self-doubt, depression, and addictive behaviour, a theme echoed in the video.

“The video presents a visual dialogue between two opposing forces, one controlling and cruel, the other hopeful yet fragile,” explains Dubinski frontman Eugene Gaine. “Dark, confined scenes evoke the feeling of being trapped in overthinking, while shifting mirror shots symbolize defiance and the struggle to break free. Ultimately, it’s about rejecting negative thought patterns and finding strength and pride within.”

Comprised of the Edinburgh based Gaine brothers - Eugene (vocals, guitar), Fergus (lead guitar), Donal (bass), and Eoin (drums) - Dubinski stand at the forefront of Scotland’s next wave of alternative rock. Recorded at Salvation Studios in Brighton and produced by Mike Horner, “Ciggy Burns” is another step up for the band, whose combination of jagged guitars with fierce rhythms and thought-provoking lyrics should appeal to fans of socially conscious bands such as Fontaines D.C, IDLES, Benefits and Yard Act. Dubinski have gigged relentlessly over the past three years, supporting artists including Young Knives and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club while headlining their own shows across the UK & Europe.

“Ciggy Burns” follows recent single “Back To Basics” - “Tracks like Back To Basics are what indie rock is all about” (Analogue Trash) - and both tracks will feature on Dubinski’s as-yet-untitled new long player, set for release later this year. Stand by for news for live dates.
