Echt ! pays a tribute to bass music with new single ‘Wacky Wave’

A track full of humor, quirky, though balancing the raw power of the straight-on, almost effortless modern bass sound they have been working on over the past few years, this was the premise of ECHT!’s latest single Wacky Wave. Built on irresistible grooves, fat, deep sounds, and playful melodies that inject the track with a dose of fun.

Wacky Wave is the next single leading up to new album Boilerism, which pays tribute to club culture as a whole. And with this particular track, ECHT! pays tribute to bass music in their own signature style. Working their charm with the right balance between power and release, making sure to get heads bobbing.

The line of the accompanying artwork complements this playful nod to club culture. Imagine yourself in the heart of the crowd: the glow of lights cutting through darkness, the sweat dripping from industrial warehouse pipes above—a perfect encapsulation of the gritty energy that defines the underground scene.

It has been three years since ECHT!’s debut album Inwane, followed by their second LP Sink-Along in 2023, both released on Sdban Ultra. Their music has garnered acclaim from notable outlets such as Mixmag, DJ Mag, and Tsugi, while earning support from respected DJs including Lefto, Gilles Peterson, and Jamz Supernova on BBC Radio 6. ECHT! has performed at iconic venues such as the Jazz Café (London), AB (Brussels), Melkweg & Paradiso (Amsterdam), and Gretchen (Berlin). Their most recent tour spanned 14 countries, including Mexico and India.

‘Wacky Wave’ is the latest single from the upcoming ECHT! album ‘Boilerism’, to be released on 7 March 2025 via Sdban Ultra. On 25 April 2025 ECHT! is scheduled to perform at Bricklane Jazz Festival for their UK festival debut.
