Ellen Benediktson is continuing her pop/rock journey with the follow up single Maniac

After her debut single Basic, which made it into editorial playlists on Apple Music and Spotify, Ellen Benediktson is continuing her pop/rock journey with the follow up single Maniac. In this ”Don’t bore us, get to the chorus”, 80’s influenced, pop/rock song, she’s diving into an addictive chant-hook right from the start. ”You can call me a Maniac” sings the artist in a song about following your dreams and how going your own way might make you seem crazy to some. Maniac is written and produced by the same team as Basic including the artist herself, Linnea Deb, Andreas Lindbergh and Dino Medanhodzic, giving Ellen’s second single a familiar sound, building up her brand.

When I was a kid my mom would tell me everyday before school ”You’re the best, don’t take any shit and don’t let anyone walk all over you”. That made me into a very stubborn, resilient and a little delusional girl, three ingredients crucial for doing something as crazy as trying to become a pop star.”

Ellen Benediktson is a multitalented artist, vocalist and songwriter who’s known for her unique voice and strong stage present. She started her career at 18 when she was hand picked to compete in the Swedish Eurovision Songcontest. She had an over-night breakthrough with her song Songbird and signed a record deal with Warner Music Sweden soon after. Growing up listening to bands like Paramore, Panic At The Disco and Fall Out Boy, Ellen was always rooted in pop/rock and punk. During the last two years she has entered a new musical era where the references are clear.
