EMMON continues the journey towards ICONMIXED with a new interpretation of Dark by Randolph & Mortimer. Emerging from Sheffield’s electronic underground, the project connects industrial music with Belgian new beat, EBM and the grit of early ’90s rave—a distinctive combination that has earned an international cult following.

Randolph & Mortimer’s reach extends well beyond the industrial scene. Tracks have found their way into sets by Phase Fatale, Pablo Bozzi and Cormac, while Ancient Methods, Schwefelgelb, Curses and Kris Baha have contributed remixes. The 2023 album The Incomplete Truth topped A Model of Control’s year-end album list and placed second in I Die: You Die’s annual selection.

Live appearances alongside Youth Code, Godflesh and 3Teeth, plus a 2025 show supporting Kite at London’s Fabric, underline the project’s ability to move between industrial stages and club culture. Its Swedish connections have continued through the 2026 remix collection The Penultimate Truth, featuring Kite & Mr Monell, alongside contributors including David Carretta and Anna Wall.

That background makes Randolph & Mortimer a compelling match for Dark. Originally featured on EMMON’s 2025 album ICON, the song explores the uneasy relationship between longing and destruction, drawing on the romanticised violence of vampire fiction. Desire and danger become inseparable, with darkness and light framing a relationship poised between salvation and collapse.

The new remix brings this emotional tension into Randolph & Mortimer’s industrial dance world, adding another perspective to the international creative exchange at the heart of ICONMIXED.

Dark (Randolph & Mortimer Remix) is released October 9 via Icons Creating Evil Art, ahead of the full ICONMIXED album on October 23.

About ICONMIXED

A year after ICON, EMMON returns with ICONMIXED, inviting an international cast of artists to reinterpret her music through their own creative lens. The album connects EBM, industrial, darkwave, techno and alternative rock, with contributions from Rhys Fulber, aux animaux, Idoru, Kris Baha, Agent Side Grinder, SIIE, The Foreign Resort and more.

The contrasts are central to the project. The Foreign Resort reshape Speak to Me with saturated guitars, live drums and shoegaze atmosphere. Agent Side Grinder steer Relics towards ’90s house, eurodisco and acid basslines, while Kris Baha takes the same song into a collision of big beat and hard techno. Rhys Fulber reimagines Shades of Blue, aux animaux takes on Cold Within, and Idoru offers another interpretation of Dark.

Following RECONMIXED in 2023, ICONMIXED continues EMMON’s exploration of remixing as a creative exchange. Her voice and songwriting connect the different approaches, revealing how the same material can move between scenes and take on new meanings.
