Extrazen drops gritty and glamorous “HOLLYWOOD” ahead of NOS Alive Festival slot

Creatively fusing chopped vocal samples with a bass-heavy beat (co-produced by Extrazen with Odete and Luar), “HOLLYWOOD” hears Extrazen team up with underground acts Herlander and Odete for a multi-faceted offering.

With each self-written lyric laced with confidence and delivered with Extrazen’s signature swagger, “HOLLYWOOD” explores a journey of independence and self-reliance. Capturing the moment when you’re ready to embrace yourself to the fullest, “HOLLYWOOD” is a fascinating and much-needed dose of confidence: “Move out the gates / I’m about to crash that sh*t, stay awake,” he declares.

Meanwhile, the “HOLLYWOOD” music video brings the track to life through a stylish clip set within a derelict warehouse, artistically contrasted by the suaveness of Extrazen’s high-fashion wardrobe - capturing the track’s gritty yet glamorous duality.

Proving his credible emergence on the scene, Extrazen will be playing “HOLLYWOOD” and other tracks live when he takes the stage at NOS Alive – touted as “one of the best music festivals in Europe” – on July 12, alongside global stars like Dua Lipa, Tyla and Ashnikko.

Emerging after a creative hibernation following the considerable buzz formed through his 2022 EP I THINK I THINK TOO MUCH and 2023’s one-off single “Sleep”, “HOLLYWOOD” puts Extrazen firmly back into the limelight.

Building a reputation for an intriguing catalogue of experimental sounds which define Extrazen as a sonic boundary pusher, the Portuguese artist and producer originally fell in love with music after learning to play guitar during his childhood in Santo Tirso, a small city near Porto.

Experimenting throughout the years with different sounds and textures on a myriad of indie cuts, he joined One House Only in 2019 and released his acclaimed debut single and music video "With You". Following a quiet 2020, Extrazen made his return with "Pinewood St." – an intimate and nostalgic ballad – and "Cleopatra" in 2021, earning him his radio debut on several stations around Portugal and attaining his first million streams on Spotify.
