Final month of CS13 starts with Houndstooth and Planet Mu showcases
On a mission to provide London’s party people with an alternative club series, Clock Strikes 13 has quickly become the most eclectic series the city has ever seen. Over three months CS13 host 24 showcases from the undergrounds elite, and now the CS13 family enter the final month of it’s first year. Rounding off 2015 is a set of killer parties set to keep you dancing as you head into the depths of the winter, including Houndstooth and Planet Mu shows, plus Northern Electronics x Samurai Horo, Modern Love, Viewlexx, Ninja Tune, Eclair Fifi and Comeme x Highlife.
Friday 27th sees Fabric’s ground-breaking Houndstooth imprint head to Village Underground with an all-star bill. Experimental live sets come from 18 and Throwing Snow, whilst Akkord, Call Super and Second Storey bring beats from techno to bass. Source Direct will also play a rare jungle set. On Saturday, iconic Brit imprint Planet Mu unites artists past, present and future for their 20th birthday, promising to be party that could not and should not be missed. Be ready for the reunion of Vex’d (Kuedo and Roly Porter) as well as a hi-energy footwork set from the legend RP Boo.
December starts with a solid collab between two labels making serious power moves - Abdullah Rashim’s Northern Electronics and ambient masters Samurai Horo. Their party at Corsica on the 4th of December brings together artists linked to both camps including Abdulla Rashim himself, ASC, Varg, DjRum, Acronym, Ancestral Voices, Ulwhednar, Sam SDC and DJ Presha. On the 5th, Andy Stott brings his pioneering Modern Love label to Village Underground with a crew of the finest alternative techno / noise explorations. A week later, Viewlexx add Ron Morelli to their party on the 11th, joining I-F, Intergalactic Gary, Joe Hart and Legowelt for a night of dark techno exploits.
CS13 partners Ninja Tune throw their final CS13 party on the 12th of December, with HNNY, Flak0, Glenn Astro, Josey Rebelle, Max Graef and Romare all stepping up to mark the seminal label’s 25th year in operation. Closing weekend features an Eclair Fifi curated special on the 18th December with Janus wonderkid Lotic, Kindness and Lucky Me comrade Joseph Marinetti. On the 19th, Comeme and Highlife see off the year in style with a major collection of talent, including Matias Aguayo, Lena Willikens, Auntie Flo, Throwing Shade (live) Esa and label boss Andrew.
With a set of roadblock events under it’s belt, as well as never been done before label showcases, Clock Strikes 13 has cemented it’s place as one of London’s most interesting event series. Showcasing the unusual, avant-garde hybrid genres and artists from the underground world, CS13 has bought together bass, techno, hip-hop, grime and everything in between for a three month celebration of massive proportions.
