First 11 bands for Alcatraz Metal Festival 2015 confirmed

On Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th of August, 19 bands will perform at the festival that after two successful editions and despite the good cooperation with the management of the Vives University moved to De Lange Munte. The grass field where Alcatraz came to life has now become a car park. 11 bands have already confirmed their presence to Courtrai, including Nightwish who will perform as one of the headliners. Also on the 2013 edition this Finnish super band closed our stage to a five thousand strong audience. That was just before the band officially announced Floor Jansen as their new singing Dutchwoman. This time Nightwish will present their long-awaited new album which will appear in March. The other confirmed acts so far are Behemoth, Accept, Overkill, Annihilator, Carcass, Death Angel, Powerwolf, Queensrÿche, Armored Saint and D-A-D. Next to that, the organizers will certainly make all efforts to realise a unique music experience, once again. The festival has to maintain its glory and will be working hard on atmosphere and perception, next to a remarkable line-up. The goal to become the most pleasant music festival of its kind is still on top of the agenda. Since the festival will continue on a Saturday and Sunday, this makes sure we can present two full festival days which will start before noon each day.

Location: an additional sports area at the back of the Lange Munte will serve as the final destination for the festival in the coming years. The new location offers numerous additional benefits such as an extremely well laid grass field and a real camping spot. A part of the fixed facilities of the Lange Munte will be used for the artists back stage, press room, locker room, VIP restaurant, etc...
