Fortress new single " Moonchild"
Moonchild is the latest single from synth-pop trio Fortress. With this release the band announces their debut EP, the beginning of a new start. After the departure of drummer Anke, Nils Tijtgat (Team William, Protection Patrol Pinkerton) reinforces the band on bass synths. Fortress sounds bolder and more raw than everbefore.
With Moonchild, Fortress shows their most energetic side. The song tells the story of a "Moonchild": someone who likes to lose themselves in higher spheres and is never really grounded here on earth. This person embodies a seductive mystery, permeated by a certain melancholy. A Moonchild prefers to escape the harsh reality and banality of our existence. With this song, Fortress wants their listeners to feel like a Moonchild and to dream of freedom, light and love.
The band will stream the premiere of their unique music video for Moonchild on May 7 at 8pm, which will be available on fortressmusic.be. The video was created for the band by Finnish artist Laura Matikainen. The video will be followed by an intimate living room concert. Afterwards, the audience also gets the chance to ask the band questions via a chatbox.
Fortress is also preparing a concert film. As an artist in residence, they can often be found in Trix. The venue has recently called them "the hardest working band in town" and they are only too happy to prove it with their cinematic concert film. The film is directed by Tijs Torfs (the brother of singer Hanne) who has already won several international prizes with his compelling documentary 'Bertha en de Wolfram' and the poetic short film 'Graven'. The DOP for this film is Dries Vanderaerden, always going for the most mesmerizing shots. Talented dancers Pieter Desmet (Ultima Vez) and Martha Gardner will also be featured in the film.
