The eerie day when 60s rock and neo-psych collided to the point of losing sight of their own essence, in an overwhelming and incessant soundtrack driven sprinkled with Italian subculture, that's when GIÖBIA's acid rock was born. This unique four-piece takes the listener into a world where the boundaries of reality are obsolete, and anything can happen. After their 2009 debut 'Hard Stories', the band set the foundations of a fruitful career with 2013’s 'Introducing Night Sounds', leading them to play major events across Europe. In 2016, the band releases their milestone 'The Magnifier', which propels them as one of the most influential bands in the underground scene.
Unstoppable, GIÖBIA will keep blowing minds by crafting 'Plasmatic Idol' due out early 2020 on Heavy Psych Sounds. ‘Plasmatic Idol’ is simply awe-inspiring, with its collection of unearthly sounds and futurist atmospheres. Taking the listener to another dimension filled with sidereal dreams and mind travels, there is no doubt that Hawkwind and Pink Floyd come to mind... but it goes beyond the simple name-dropping as the foursome also masterfully — and freely! — blends hints of Italian prog, 70s horror movies, 60s garage and Californian psych. Smoothly produced by the band themselves, ‘Plasmatic Idol’ flows like a kaleidoscopic wave and immerses you into the cosmos. Vintage organs and synthesizers are at the heart of the album’s dynamics, while eight shimmering tracks capture anyone’s attention without further warning. Produced and mixed by Bazu (guitar, vocals) and mastered by Brett Orrison at Spaceflight Records in Austin, Texas.
