Grandmas House releases The Table

‘The Table’, which is available now, aptly arrives alongside the tour news - a live favourite for a good while now, it finally sees the light of day in recorded form and the results are exceptional. It sees the quartet turning in a rock anthem, all churning, undulating guitar leads, insistent and driving rhythm section, and layers of deftly deployed vocal harmonies that dance around Yasmin Berndt’s syrupy, raspy lead.

Of the track, the band offer: “‘The Table’ is the first song we wrote for the album. It was written in part about a relationship that is falling apart and in part about our experiences as women in the music industry. We’ve been playing it live for a while now but it’s one that’s evolved and changed quite a bit over time. We’ve been lucky enough to be able to tour and play live in so many amazing places over the last few years, and it’s nice to think that this song has been shaped a little by all of those experiences.”

For those looking to hear the rockist majesty of ‘The Table’ live, the band’s freshly announced headline tour takes them all around the British Isles and the continent from September to November. Kicking off Tromsø, Norway, on Sept 30th, it includes shows in Stockholm, Berlin and Paris, before moving to the UK for a run that features a London date at Oslo on Nov 17th and a hometown Bristol show at Thekla on Nov 21st. ‘The Table’ follows on from recent singles ‘Baby You’re A Winner’ and ‘DOG’ which have served as prime examples of the expanded musical vision Grandmas House are working towards with their debut album. Making dexterous use of lush vocal harmonies and widescreen arrangements, Baby You’re A Winner finds the band - alongside producer Ali Chant (PJ Harvey, Perfume Genius, Yard Act) - showcasing a real levelling up of ambition: more layered and involved than their trio of previous EPs - Grandmas House (2021), Who Am I (2023), Anything For You (2025). The singles have drawn praise and support so far from the likes of BBC 6 Music, Clash, Dork, Radio X, The Line of Best Fit, Apple Music 1, Wonderland and more.

The album finds the quartet - completed by Poppy Dodgson (vocal, drums), Zoë Zinsmeister (bass, vocals) and Polly Jessett (guitar) - bringing a greater sense of nuance and space to their music, while deploying myriad genres to maximum effect. From the righteous, elasticated rock of ‘DOG’ to the syncopated post-punk and brass blasts of ‘Dance’ and on to the chamber folk ambiance of closer ‘Spring’, Baby You’re A Winner is the most authentic, realised portrait of Grandmas House to date.

The songs here navigate a precarious balancing act between sadness and catharsis, ultimately landing in a place of salvation - the product of the band’s tight-knit friendship, this album is their gift to the world, born from a period of grief and hardship but emerging from the other side with profound love and strength. It’s a testament that even when the odds are against you, anyone can be a winner.

“We wrote this album about the existential crisis of going through life,” explain the band. “It’s about love and infatuation but also about grief and loneliness. It’s emotional, powerful, sad and a good time all at once.”

It’s been a hugely successful spring for the band on the live front, including a much-lauded stint at SXSW as well as a largely sold-out European tour with shows in Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium and France, and recent UK festival dates at The Great Escape, Dot To Dot, Bearded Theory and more. Grandmas House have toured prodigiously in recent years, opening for Big Special on a recent UK tour and for Arxx across Europe and supporting the likes of Idles, Pigsx7, Katy J Pearson, TV Priest and more, while they also recently sold-out their own headline tour of Germany in 2025 and have hit up festivals including Reading & Leeds, Sŵn, Green Man and more.
