Simon Says explores the impact of divorce on young people's development, tackling the confusion and construction of identity through hard-hitting, head-on wordplay. The track's relentless energy reflects this turbulence, with frenetic guitars and pounding percussion serving as a chaotic backdrop to a vocal oscillating between defiance and vulnerability.The music video draws freely on these themes, illustrating both the formation of a family and its slow emotional disintegration. The video traces the gradual collapse of a relationship, undermined by alcohol abuse and gambling, in an ironic way, depicting the characters as a family of dice. Gradually, the father figure becomes increasingly absent, abandoning himself to cards and alcohol, while the female character expresses growing frustration.Over the course of the clip, the child evolves from a carefree baby to a happy youngster, then to a disillusioned teenager, a helpless witness to the deterioration of his home.It's a humorous yet poignant visual representation of the emotional chaos described in the song.
