Inklings Announce Release Of EP ‘Is This Who You Are?’
Following on from the release of ‘Sertraline’, Inklings announce the release of their next EP ‘Is This Who You Are?’. Compromising of 4 brand new tracks, the EP takes a darker twist on previous Inklings pop-rock releases. Talking about ‘Is This Who You Are?’, Inklings commented: “Inklings has always been a cathartic outlet. The first EP was about putting myself back together after the divorce that was FVK... and this one is about wrestling with the fallout from that. It’s got a positive edge to it though. Even if the songs are super emo".
The first single release from the EP, volatile new track "Sertraline", expresses Inklings battles in life. Talking about the release he said "I wrote this song about my 'love affair' with Sertraline, which is an anti-anxiety drug. In 2017 I burned myself out and the result was GAD (Generalised Anxiety Disorder). It basically meant that my body started producing too many stress hormones and everything went haywire, after coming to terms with the fact that I wasn't imminently dying doctors prescribed me Sertraline. It made me better and now a few years on this song was almost a goodbye to it".
