Irja release new single "Cold Air" !

IRJA is back with a second EP. The two Londoners with Swiss roots combine the intimacy of folk songwriting with an ambitious and deep electronica approach, juggling between contemplative downtempo and more dancing rhythms. An EP titled "KRYO" where the duo draws hopeful freshnessfrom melancholy and introspection.

IRJA is composed of Swiss musicians Colin Lanz and Basil Steiner, both of whom have been living andactive in London for several years. Together they deliver polished electronica with a pop twist, as iscustomary on the island-influences from The XX, Joe Goddard and Maribou State are heard here andthere.

IRJA's identity is also characterized by a pronounced love for the analog and warm sound of 80ssynths as well as by sophisticated arrangements, brilliantly breaking the codes of pop music.Even more thanon their very first EP "Aura", IRJA manages to deal with emotional fragility in their songs-"KRYO" is a way for the two-piece to keep on growing humanly and musically, to assimilate experiencesand find new paths. For example, "Foot in the Door" and "Pull the Trigger" both deal with toxicrelationships and the (im)possibility to let go. It is always with great melancholy that the two musiciansfind the necessary energy to regain hope leading to new beginnings.
