Jamie Webster pays tribute to grassroots music fans on 'Ode To Me And You' - OUT NOW
Looking ahead to sharing his fourth album, 'Running Round The Sun', Webster announces US and Australia dates plus a further 17 UK live appearances.
Defiant indie songwriting success story, Jamie Webster celebrates the enduring relationship between artist and audience on new single Ode To Me And You – OUT NOW. An uplifting single built on togetherness, gratitude and shared experience, the renowned Liverpool-based artist lands a heartfelt tribute to the people who have travelled alongside him throughout his remarkable journey, while revealing further compelling sonic dimensions of his most ambitious long-player to date.
At the same time as looking forward to sharing his fourth album, Running Round The Sun in full with listeners, Webster also announces US and Australia dates plus a further 17 UK live appearances, performing acoustic shows with record shops nationwide, opening at Assai in Aberdeen on Mon 2 November 2026. Booking information for all shows can be found at www.jamiewebstermusic.com.
Following the ‘statement of intent’ single releases of Just Begun, Small Town Life and Turning Point, Webster's choice of new single is the opening track of the upcoming album, released with Modern Sky on Fri 4 September 2026. Paying attention to the intricacies of song selection and listener expectation, the rousing firing pistol of Track One is purposefully placed to give those loyal fans a taste of the Jamie Webster they’ve come to know and love, whilst pushing their shared story determinedly forwards.
With huge arena tours in the UK, growing demand overseas and wildly successful songs such as the mega-streaming street-folk anthem, Weekend In Paradise, the pressures and contradictions of recognition have occasionally broadsided the fiercely independent singer-songwriter. Past every milestone and beyond every moment of uncertainty, however, Webster still appreciates the one thing that has remained unchanged over the last decade above all else: the bond he shares with the thousands who continue to turn up for him wherever he goes.
Ode To Me And You is a celebration of not only Webster and his audience’s communal joy and pain, but the extraordinary relationship that exists between any artist, established or starting out, whose songs have become woven into other people’s lives. For Webster, with three hugely successful albums behind him, the song acknowledges that it’s the same, loyal audience that has made it possible for every subsequent song to be heard.
"Ode To Me And You is a celebration of the journey my fans and I have been on together,” says Webster. “They've given me a life in music, and hopefully I've given them songs that have become part of their lives, whether songs at weddings and birthdays or songs that got them through difficult times. When I'm feeling beaten black and blue, I remember the road we've travelled together, and that always helps."
Recorded during Webster's extended stay at the legendary Rockfield Studios alongside producer collaborators Dave Eringa and Tim Cunningham, Ode To Me And You shines light on Webster’s evolution as a songwriter and musician. Written in the open DADGAD guitar tuning and informed by Webster's growing admiration for the harmonic richness of Joni Mitchell, the timeless craftsmanship of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and the wider Laurel Canyon canon, the single espouses a sophisticated musical vocabulary.
Filtered through Webster's unmistakable northern English voice and instinct for songs that bring people together, those influences bring a distinctly timelessness flavour to add to his heart-on-sleeve authenticity. Rich in melody and subtle musical detail, the single is a further indication of his growing confidence, building on the foundation stones of honesty, optimism and the sense of community that have sat at the heart of his music since the release of his UK Top Ten debut album, We Get By in 2020.
Following a run of three very special and intimate dates at Liverpool’s Jacaranda venue, taking place over consecutive days (Fri 21, Sat 22 and Sun 23 Aug) when Webster will play Running Round The Sun in full for the first and last time, he takes off on an initial, extensive 13-date UK tour.
Opening in Southampton the day after the album's release, and announcing up-and-coming talents, M60, Keyside, Danny Griffiths and Shambolics as support acts joining Webster across the run of nationwide venues, all confirmed UK, US and Australia Running Round The Sun tour dates and newly announced instore appearances are as follows:
