Jnr Williams new EP "Where We Start"

Hackney born singer/songwriter Jnr Williams shares his impressive debut EP ‘Where We Start’.

‘The title of the EP is called ‘Where We Start.’ I really want to make a point of “we” and not “me.” It’s about us all going on this journey together, and not being afraid to share our stories - good and bad. It's about talking about things we all go through from family relationships, the struggles and the inner demons we face. I wanted it to be honest and expose my rawest emotions, and hopefully it’s something people can relate to and connect with.’

The 5-track EP is a beautiful introduction to an artist with depth and integrity, and an effortless vocal delivery. Having released his spine-tingling rendition of Dinah Washington’s classic ‘What a Difference’ late last year which Annie Mac branded as ‘very, very special’, Jnr William’s shares his EP ahead of his sold-out debut show at London’s Servants Jazz Quarters on 28th March.

Citing references from Louis Armstrong through to James Blake, Jnr’s voice captures the raw emotion of the story being told within each track. ‘Where We Start’ also features his most recent single ‘A Prayer’; which he shared earlier this year alongside a powerful cinematic video created by acclaimed director Iggy LDN.

‘A Prayer’, was written about a male and female relationship, however as the story developed the song evolved into something entirely different. Throughout the collaboration between Jnr and Iggy, the concept of masculinity and how men often struggle to express their feelings became a pivotal theme, looking closely at the relationship between a grieving father and son.
