Kassie Krut Release "Reckless - COIDO Remix" From 'Kassie Krut (Expanded EP)', Out Friday

Today, Kassie Krut unveil their new single, “Reckless - COIDO Remix,” from the forthcoming Kassie Krut (Expanded EP), out this Friday via Fire Talk. The thrilling COIDO remix straddles harsh noise and infectious electronics, reworking one of 2024’s most celebrated tracks into an irresistibly entrancing composition. Named one of the year’s best songs by Pitchfork, The Guardian, Mix Mag, NPR Music, Hearing Things and more, “Reckless - COIDO Remix” doubles down on its predecessor’s “brazen jungle percussion and lush electronic noise” (The Line of Best Fit), taking the theme song to new heights.

“Reckless - COIDO Remix” follows Kassie Krut’s collaboration with Panda Bear, and is joined by additional contributions from DJ Travella, The JLB (of Kero Kero Bonito), and Container on Friday’s Kassie Krut (Expanded EP). Later this month, Kassie Krut will perform a string of dates alongside Crumb, followed be select festivals in the US and UK. A full list of tour dates are below, and tickets are on sale now.

On their self-produced, self-titled debut, Kassie Krut’s approach is deceptively simple. With a constrained palette and a penchant for repetition, they find a world of opposing textures and timbres: electric and acoustic, synthetic and organic, terrestrial and celestial. Their scratch-made sounds melodize the hard-edged noise of daily life — car alarms, notification chimes, dial tones, feedback— against stutter-step high hats, pots-and-pans percussion, and tensile bass tones that thrash around like a rubber ball.
