Kids With Buns cover Maksim's hit 'Onder Invloed' in the first 'Liefde Voor Muziek' episode

Tonight airs the first episode of the new season of VTM's 'Liefde Voor Muziek', a television show where six Belgian artists cover each other's hits and adapt them into their own style. The participating artists of this 11th season are: Hooverphonic, Maksim, Barbara Dex, Luc Steeno, Guus Meeuwis, Frank Vander Linden and of course Kids With Buns, who are the youngest artists of the group.

Each episode is dedicated to one artist, starting with Maksim in Episode 1, which will air tonight at 20h40 on VTM. When Kids With Buns heard they were joining Liefde Voor Muziek, one thing was certain: they had to cover Maksim’s hit ‘Onder Invloed’. Though they don’t typically make pop music, this song had been a staple on their tour bus playlist for two years. Their cover, which got the name 'Under Your Influence' quickly became Kids With Buns most energetic and danceable song, while maintaining their dreamy indie sound. The story of trying to escape someone’s memory - being stuck under their influence, has never sounded so anthemic.

About their participation Marie and Amber explained the following: "We where stunned when VTM suddenly called us, we thought they called the wrong band! Indie artists don't often participate in these kind of shows. The recordings, which took place in the South of France, were super exciting. Imagine trying to keep calm while performing when legends like Alex Callier are sitting in front of you! Sometimes I thought I was going to faint." Amber laughs.

All covers will also be released on online platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, Deezer,...) every Wednesday morning of the broadcast. The episode dedicated to Kids With Buns will air on 7 May and will be the second to last, before the final 'Best-off' episode on May 14.

On May 8th Kids With Buns will perform in De Vooruit in Ghent where they will also play some of their 'Liefde Voor Muziek' covers live. Support act is Kaat Van Stralen (Stop Met Wenen). Tickets and info here.
