Kramies Releases Sublime New Track "We're All Dead" - Listen Now
Kramies is back with the brand new single: “We’re All Dead”.
Four years after his critically acclaimed self-titled LP—which earned multiple Album of the Year accolades and saw Billboard christen him “The Dreampop Troubadour”, the track also arrives exactly one year since its follow-up, ‘Goodbye Dreampop Troubadour’.
Marking a creative shift from any former labellings, his sensational new offering “We’re All Dead”, expands his creative world into something beyond the realms of his previous work.
White previous releases have been scattered with the stardust of luminaries such as Jason Lytle (Grandaddy), Patrick Carney (Black Keys), Jerry Becker (Train), Tyler Ramsey (Band of Horses) Todd Tobias (GBV, Robert Pollard), Jim Bogios (Counting Crows) and more, his new single and forthcoming EP enlists his longtime friend, musician and producer Derek Lee LaJoie.
With Kramies playing and singing almost everything on the track, with drums from longtime drummer John Panza; two days of creative collaboration with LaJoie would see them bottle the distinctive atmosphere and mood of “We’re all Dead”. The resultant track is one filled with an ethereal radiance and limitless ambition.
Speaking about the new track to Magnet Magazine, who premiered the single, Kramies said:
“I struggle to know the meaning behind what I’m creating until it’s been done for a bit... This one went from having no meaning to having the biggest theme. It’s a happy reminder that the only thing that matters and that people remember is the kindness you gave and the kindness you received. Other than that, we’re all dead.”
Operating in a genre Kramies is credited for pioneering, “Folklore Dreampop” - a blend of dreamy textures, poetic myth, and spectral beauty.
With a career spanning almost fifteen years and a long string of releases that have earned him extraordinary accolades, Kramies has a knack for eerie and ethereal songwriting. While his self-titled 2022 debut album offered a collection of songs steeped in wonder that found the singer-songwriter drifting deeply through a series of otherworldly realms; more recently, ‘Goodbye Dreampop Troubadour’ his 2025 collaboration with Grammy-winning producer Mario J McNulty (David Bowie / Prince), conjured dusky soundscapes shaded with nighttime colors and a nostalgic melancholia
Over the years, Kramies’ work has earned the attention of NME, Clash, Billboard, NPR, the BBC, and much more. His 2022 self-titled LP made it onto seven “Album of the Year” lists, with two singles featured in Top 10 radio charts. Under The Radar praised the album as possessing the “ethereal quality of a waking dreamscape”.
An artist’s artist, across his career he has worked with members of The Black Keys, Band Of Horses, Counting Crows, Train and Grandaddy; and much of Kramies’ success has come from his ability to be himself and stick to his clear artistic vision. He’s grown even more comfortable with his unique way of working, pushing his craft as an outsider who has firmly forged his own path and earned cult appeal on both sides of the Atlantic in the process. With a new collection of tracks on the horizon, standby for Kramies’ next move very soon.
